Kenya: 12 Immigrants Nabbed in Mwea Expelled

SOME 12 Ethiopians have been repatriated to their country after they were arrested at Makutano road block on their way to Nairobi. Police boss Apollo Onyonyi said the 12 had been promised work as barbers in Nairobi.

However, police suspect they were en route to South Africa. Onyonyi said they are treating the issue as human trafficking being carried out by a well-connected person who was directing them.

He added that with the help of the immigration department, they found out that the travel documents the 12 had were fake. The police boss urged wananchi not to harbour illegal foreigners as they pose a threat to Kenya's security.
