Menongue — About Akz 224 million is being earmarked for the implementation of projects in southeastern Kuando Kubango province, under the programme of reintegration of former soldiers.
The information was released on Monday in Menongue, the province's capital city, by the head of the local Institute of Socio-Professional Reintegration of Ex-Soldiers (IRSEM), Azevedo Pio, who stressed that the reintegration process began in 2008.
He also mentioned the ongoing actions toward the economic and social empowerment of 1,336 ex-soldiers through the Government's reintegration strengthening programme (PGRR).
According to Azevedo Pio, of the total number of people who benefited from the equipment, 199 have chosen other income generating activities, such as motorbike-taxi, blacksmithing, tailoring, plumbing, mechanical and industrial electricity.
