5 December 2012

Abeokuta — Ogun State Government has set aside the sum of N10.69 billion for increased agricultural production and industrialization in the next fiscal year, the state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, said at the presentation of the state's 2013 appropriation bill tagged, "Budget for Sustainable Growth" to the state House of Assembly in Abeokuta.

He said the vision of his administration in the agricultural sector is to harness the untapped potential of the state as the food basket of the nation, adding that to achieve this ideal, government would develop Model Farm Estates to engage 500 unemployed graduates and create an estimated additional 5,000 jobs across the wider communities in the three senatorial districts of the state.
