Gambia: Banjul South NAM Gives to Teams

The National Assembly member for Banjul South Constituency, Honourable Baboucarr S Nyang, Saturday presented trophies and cash prizes to three football teams in Banjul South in a ceremony held at the Banjul Mini-Stadium. The beneficiary teams are Ngoyan FC, Ajax FC and One Love FC. The late Alhagie Sheikh Nyang Memorial was awarded to Nyoyan FC as the most disciplined team in the area.

Ngoyan received D2,000 on top of the trophy; the late Alh D.M.Nyang memorial best goalkeeper award went to AJax FC's keeper who also received a trophy and a cash prize of D1,000. The leading goalscorer trophy which was named after the late Nyanga Sallah, former national team and Real de Banjul player went to a One Love player who also received a trophy and a cash prize of D1,000.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon Nyang revealed that this is the sixth edition since he started to support the teams in his Constituency noting that sports is one way of supporting the youths. He said that he made the donation to remind the youths about the contributions of the late veterans to the development of Sports in Banjul South and the Gambia at large. He also thanked the Banjul Sports Committee for the good work they are doing in Banjul and encouraged them to keep the momentum.
