Zambia: Zambezi Portland Files Injunction Against Finsbury Officials

ZAMBEZI Portland Cement Limited (ZPC) has filed an injunction in the Ndola High Court ordering officials from Finsbury Investment, a shareholding firm, to stay away from the cement-manufacturing company premises.

This is contained in an ex-parte order for leave to issue committal proceedings obtained by the Times yesterday and signed by Ndola High Court Judge Munalula Lisimba.

The plaintiffs, Antonio and Manuela Ventriglia filed an injunction to restrain Lusaka lawyer John Sangwa and Finsbury Investments Limited representatives Joan Craven and Peter Kanaganayagam from venturing into the ZPC plant in Ndola.

The order was filed through ZPC operations manager Mwamba Kayula.

Mr Sangwa, Mr Kanaganayagam and Mr Craven have been ordered to stay away from the Zambezi Portland premises as they allegedly had no business at the firm.

In the matter, ZPC is represented by lawyer Zachariah Muya while Finsbury Investments Limited is being represented by Simeza Sangwa and Associates.
