Somalia: Bomb Attack On Puntland Forces Kills 12, Injures 15

Bossaso — At least 12 soldiers were killed and 15 sustained sever wounds in an attack targeted forces under Somalia's semi-autonomous region of Puntland, reports said on Wednesday.

Witnesses said a roadside bomb tore through a convoy carrying Puntland forces in Sugure area, 50 Km away from Bossaso city, north east Somalia. 12 combatants lost their lives while 15 hurt in the attack. the army were going to evacuate a wounded officer in the area at the time of the blast.

Pro-Shebab websites claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that more 30 Puntland soldiers have been killed in the blast.

The latest news story say the situation in the bomb explosion site is said to be tense as many troops were visible cordoned off the scene and carrying out manhunt operations.
