Kenya: Migori Traders Get Sh2 Million Loans

Migori smallscale traders have been granted Sh2 million loans to expand their businesses.

"The government is not seeking any profit from the loan but it will help traders to expand their business to enable the creation of employment for the youth," John Kerina, Migori district trade and development officer said.

He was addressing smallscale traders, Migori Municipal Council officials and representatives of Chamber of Commerce on Monday in Migori town.

The group had met to discuss the state of small businesses.

The businesspeople will be eligible for Sh100,000 funding for two years when they have paid up the loan.
