Angola: Culture Minister Due in Mbanza Kongo

Mbanza Kongo — Angolan minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, is expected Wednesday in the capital of the northern Zaire province, Mbanza Kongo, for a 24-hour working visit.

The information is expressed in a note the local government distributed to the Media organs.

The document stresses that after her arrival the minister will meet with the provincial governor, José Joanes André, and chair a ceremony for presentation of upgrading project of the current museum of the kings of Kongo Kingdom.

According to the afternoon programme, the Minister of Culture will pay visit to the historical interest sites like the ancient Cathedral (Kulumbimbi), the secular tree (Yala Nkuwu), the museum of the kings of Kongo, Sunguilu.

Visits to the venue where the bodies were washed), Tadi dia Bukikua, Tomb of Dona Mpolo (mother of one of the kings buried alive for disobedience to the laws of the court) and the construction works of the future provincial department of Culture in Zaire, are also part of the visiting agenda.

The minister along her delegation are expected back to Luanda Thursday.
