Somalia: Fierce Fighting Kills At Least Four in Southern Somalia

Leego — Heavy fighting raged Wednesday between Al shabab fighters and local a community of cattle herders in Leego town, south Somalia, reports said.

Witnesses said the clashes erupted on Wednesday dusk after heavily armed Al shabab militants attacked cattle herders in Leego town, killing at least three people. small and heavy weapons were used during the skirmishes.

Abukar Abdalla Isac, the district commissioner for Leego town said the violence broke out when the locals refused to give Zaka endowment to Al shabab.

This is not the first time that Al shabab battle with local residents in Somalia over Zako subject, sources said.
