Zimbabwe: Gather Last Steam

Zimbabweans have been urged to gather extra strength for the final push towards democratic change.

Addressing Mashonaland West Provincial Council in Chinhoyi, Wednesday, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai said that every Zimbabwean has a responsibility in the struggle for freedom.

"We all have a role to play in the democratic struggle. Let us not lose heart at the last huddle. Everyone should say it is possible. This time we will not fail. Every struggle has its pains and there is no struggle that is easy," said PM Tsvangirai.

Zimbabwe goes for watershed elections next year where PM Tsvangirai is expected to beat Zanu PF candidate, Robert Mugabe, again.

In the last presidential election in 2008, PM Tsvangirai defeated Mugabe comprehensively although the Zanu PF leader, with the help of a few misguided elements in the security sector, refused to hand over power.

Since 2008, Zimbabwe has faced a leadership crisis emanating from Mugabe's refusal to respect the will of the people.
