POWER Dynamos' midfield genius Mukuka Mulenga last night capped a dream year by winning the 2012 MTN-FAZ footballer of the year at a colourful gala in lusaka.
Coming into the year as an unknown player with a promosing future, Mulenga, in his third year at Power quickly established himself as the software in Power's midfield and got a senior national team call up and on his debut, provided an assist.
He brushed off competition for the K25m award from his captain at club level Joseph Sitali and Zesco United's bolt Jackson Mwanza.
And Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba won the coach of the year award after leading his otherwise average team to a sixth title and beat Power's Beston Chambeshi and Konkola Mine Police's Masautso Mwale to the title.
Nkana's up and coming striker Reynolds Kampamba won the top scorer award with his 14 goals as well as young player of the year award.
Both Kampamba and Mulenga were awarded in absentia as they are away with the senior national team and can fancy making the 2013 Africa cup team.
Emmanuel Chimpinde won the most disciplined player award while Kitwe referee was rewarded with the best referee in the country while Bruno Tembo was the best assistant referee.
