Gambia: Manjai Held By Bem in Zonal Opener

A ruthless Manjai side was tamed by Barra Essau and Mayamba as either slugged out a tight 1-1 stalemate at the Serekunda West Mini-stadium yesterday.

It took Manjai Kunda only fourteen minutes to split up a heated tie via an Amat Genjum well calculated effort to race his side in the lead before a somewhat impressive sell-out crowd at the Serrekunda West mini-stadium.

Manjai could have doubled the lead with defender Saikou Jawneh in-swing, met by a stylish Hamza Barry. The Gambia Ports Authority ace controlled well outside the box but his stray shot went wide to the disapproval of jeering fans.

Ten minutes later, Barra, Essau and Mayamba [BEM] grabbed a deserved equaliser. Assan Njie rose to the occasion to send BEM fans berserk to even the deficit.
