Nigeria: NERDC Seeks Improvement in the Teaching of Mathematics in Nigeria

Jos — The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Education and Research Development Council (NERDC), Professor Godswill Obioma, has attributed the success and qualitative turn out of graduates' recorded in the field of Mathematics in Nigerians Universities to the tireless efforts of Professor Peter Lassa, a Professor of Mathematics Education in Nigeria.

Obioma noted this on Wednesday at the valedictory session and book lunch held in honour of Lassa, who was an Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), at the University of Jos.

According to Obioma, Lassa has contributed so much to ensure that qualitative education is impacted in the lives of young Nigerian graduates, particularly in the field of Mathematics through the number of books he published and his immense contribution in the educational policies.
