Gambia: Lamin Sports Committee On Fundraising Campaign

In its efforts to mobilise enough resources for the development of its football pitch and to maintain the 2nd division team financially, the Lamin Sports Committee is embarking on an intensive fundraising campaign.

Speaking to this reporter, Abdoulie N. Baacha, secretary general of theCommittee, said as part of series of fundraising events, the Committee is organising an inter-club talent show on Friday, 7th December at the Willy's Night Club in Lamin.

He explained that the show is all geared towards developing sports in Lamin, who were the champions of the 2011 GFA Super Nawettan. "Lamin is among the few zones that still have their youngsters showcasing their talents on their own soil. We want to develop the football pitch and also to maintain our 2nd division team (Lamin United)," he stated, adding that preparations are at an advanced stage and that tickets will be D50.

"This move by the Committee is highly welcomed by the people of Lamin and we are therefore appealing to the general public, both within and outside the country to support us in achieving our goals for the development of sports in Lamin," he reaffirmed.
