Traditional rulers in Abia State have petitioned President Goodluck Jonathan over the demolition of the 500-unit Minanuel Housing Estate by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, in Abuja.

The monarchs, under the aegis of Isuikwuato Council of Traditional Rulers, in a letter to the President, by HRH, E.O. Ahia, the Ivi I of Amiyiobilohia, and HRH J. E. Ogbuneka, Okwuawo I of Umuokogbue, respectively, expressed displeasure over the October 1 demolition of the over N3 billion worth estate owned by Mr. Emmanuel Mbaka.

The petition read in part: "Permit us to use this medium to draw your attention to the wanton and unconscionable destruction, without due notice, of 500 houses built in Lugbe, a suburb of Abuja, by Minanuael Investment.

"It is owned by one of our sons, Mr. Emmanuel Nmbaka, who has well over 20 years experience in property development.

"Available records show that the developer applied for and obtained approval after due payment before it embarked on this project worth over N3 billion."
