Nigeria: Kano - Police Confirm Bomb Attack On Vehicle, Arrest 8

Kano — Kano state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris has said no policeman was wounded following an attack on a police vehicle around 7:20am on Thursday.

The attack happened around the vicinity of the Kano Eastern by-Pass road (Ring Road). According to Idris, men in a Volswagen Golf car threw an Improvised Explosive Device into the truck. However, the policemen were able to scramble out before the bomb exploded.

He also said the policemen were able to apprehend the eight occupants of the car as they attempted to flee.

However, officials of the Abdullahi Wase Specialist hospital confirmed to Daily Trust that 5 mobile policemen, brought in under heavy escort, were treated for injuries shortly after the blast and later taken away.
