Nigeria: Sheikh Dan Kelluri Dies At 121

Maiduguri — Maiduguri's renowned Islamic teacher Sheikh Adamu Dan Kelluri died in his Maiduguri residence yesterday at the age of 121. Family members and some of his students said the cleric died after protracted illness and described his demise as a colossal loss.

He was said to have tutored thousands of students from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Sudan and Central African Republic. Daily Trust reports that despite the security challenges in Maiduguri, the residence of Sheikh Dan Kelluri which doubles as his school (Tsangaya) is a home to thousands of pupils.
