Liberia: AG Kilby Returns From Kenya

The Auditor General (AG) of the Republic of Liberia, Mr. Robert Kilby arrives in Liberia this afternoon, after a 3-day successful visit to the Kenyan capital to attend the graduation ceremony of some 33 General Auditing Commission (GAC)-sponsored students at the University of Nairobi.

According to a press release from the GAC's office, while in Kenya Mr. Kilby met with the Liberian students and the vice chancellor of the University. He also paid a courtesy call on his Kenyan counterpart the Auditor General (AG) of Kenya at which time they had a very fruitful discussion.

It can be recalled that Mr. Kilby's stewardship at the commission has been characterized by misconceptions. Meanwhile, the Commission's Communication Director Mr. Nathaniel Brumskine said contrary to what was speculated, the AG was accorded a warm reception by the students.

Mr. Kilby in return, expressed gratitude to the students for the matured and civilized manner in which they received him, assuring them of a cordial working relationship upon their return.
