Tunisia: NCA Adopts Five Articles of Draft Law On Ihae in Absence of Opposition

Bardo — Gathered, on Thursday, to carry on discussions about the organic draft law on the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (IHAE), the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) members adopted articles 18, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27.

Articles 21 and 22 define the co-operation mode between public administrations and IHAE during the preparation of elections and referendums and articles 25, 26 and 27 are on the mission of the authority executive director.

The morning session was adjourned in lack of quorum to resume later on, in the presence of 107 independent members and the alliance, in the absence of the opposition caucuses who decided to boycott NCA works for three days, to protest against the last incidents that had taken place in the country.
