THE Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Professorial Chair in Environment and Climate Change (MJNPC-ECC) of the University of Dar es Salaam and the Division of Environment in the Vice-President's Office is organising a Public Dialogue on GMO Options in Agriculture for Climate Change Adaptation.
It will be held at the Nkrumah Hall in the Main Campus on Saturday, starting at 2pm. To be held under the theme "Climate change impacts on agricultural sector in Africa and strategies to address them," the dialogue will explore possible options for climate change adaptation, such as biotechnology and GMOs, conventional agriculture, conservation agriculture and ecological agriculture.
Eminent scientists, lawyers and regulators will facilitate the dialogue. Invitations have been extended to the university community and other interested stakeholders, including farmers, business community, NGOs and the general public.
