The DA welcomes the announcement by the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, that a full Board of Inquiry will be convened to investigate the crash of the South African Air Force C-47 Dakota in the Drakensberg.

We have to get to the bottom of why the aircraft was allowed to operate in such poor weather conditions and what caused the aircraft to crash.

The DA extends its condolences to the family and friends of the eleven members of the defence force who died in the crash.
