Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, which took place at Booben's Club, Ogudu, the Nollywood star said the main reason why he decided to support the tournament was to help young football stars discover their talents, and thereby reduce crime.
"The only way I can affect young people is by coming close to them this way. This is to see how we can support young people and see how we can augment the little talents they have to see how they can achieve greater heights.
"When I go out everyday, I see young people with great talents in football, and they only need someone to help them acheive maximum greatness. That is the whole idea.
"Basically, the motive is to see how I can positively touch the lives of young people and help them facilitate their journey to success," Ike explained.
