Nigeria: Unity Bank Introduces E-Payment for LGAs in Kano

Kano — Unity Bank Plc said it has introduced electronic payment system in the 44 local government councils of Kano State as a way of encouraging cashless system and easier payment of staff.

Managing Director of the bank, Ado Y. Wanka said this during the bank's day at the 33rd Kano International trade fair. Wanka said the bank has also introduced e-payments for the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for all transactions.

He said as part of the bank's Cooperate Social Responsibility activities, the bank has disbursed N1 billion to support education at the grassroots, as well as N6 billion for agricultural activities in the areas of poultry, tomato processing, rice and wheat.
