Angola: State Secretary Joins Angolan Delegation At UN Conference

Doha — The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, joined on Wednesday the members of the Angolan delegation participating in the 18th conference of UN on climate changes and the 8th Conference of the parties of Kyoto protocol (CMP-8), taking place in Doha (Qatar), Angop has learnt.

The head of the delegation, Fátima Jardim, said that sectors of electricity, agriculture, infrastructures, coastal zone and health are extremely impacted by the occurrence of extreme climate phenomena, such as prolonged droughts, floods and high temperature.

She said that over five per cent of the state budget of Angola has been used to lessen and recover damages caused by the incalculable damages provoked by the climate changes.
