Gambia: NAYCONF Venue Changes

The National Youth Council has confirmed that after due and thorough consultations with stakeholders in youth work, a decision has been reached for the National Organising Committee of the National Youth Conference and Festival (NAYCONF) 2012 to host the forth coming National Youth Conference and Festival in Bansang, Central River Region.

According to a media release sent to the Daily Observer , this decision is believed to be in the best interest of the teaming mass of young people that are already gearing up for the biennial event.

Consequently, to ensure a successful event the initial date of the 14th to 22nd December is postponed to allow the Local Organising Committee in CRR enough time to work on necessary logistics. The date of the event will be announced in due courses.

"Any inconvenience this may cause is highly regretted. The National Youth Council takes this opportunity to re-assure the general public, particularly the youths, of its absolute commitment to promoting the general welfare and development of the youths of the Gambia" the release concluded.
