Windhoek — Safland Namibia has appointed Desmond van Jaarsveld as Managing Director as of November 01, 2012. Born and raised in Walvis Bay, Van Jaarsveld completed his under- and post-graduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch.

He joined Namibia Breweries, part of the O&L Group of Companies, in 1999 as Product Development Manager and later also served as Managing Director for Namibia Dairies and Namibia Breweries Limited from 2005 until 2011.

Safland's track record in delivery and execution of world class projects in a very short time is clearly setting the leading tone in the industry and this momentum will be maintained in the years to come," Van Jaarsveld expressed his delight with the appointment.

Kallie van der Merwe, Chief Executive Officer of the Safland Group, welcomed Van Jaarsveld to the Safland family saying the appointment is in line with Safland's growing ambition to develop frontier towns in the country to support Namibia's Vision 2030. Safland's major developments include - The Grove in Windhoek, Town Square in Otjiwarongo and Gwashamba Mall in Ondangwa.
