Zambia: British Airways Flight Delayed for Two Hours

A BRITISH Airways 09:10hours flight BA254, from Lusaka to London, was on Wednesday delayed due to a technical problem, country commercial manager for Zambia and Malawi Beatrice Kamanga has said.

Ms Kamanga said the aircraft took off more than two hours later at 13:30 hours and arrived safely at terminal 5, London Heathrow.

In a statement in Lusaka yesterday, Ms Kamanga said British Airways always observed the highest safety standards.

"The safety of our customers and crew is always the top priority and is never compromised. Customers were not disembarked, whilst a British Airways engineer fixed the problem. Customers were served a meal and beverages onboard and had access to the aircraft's in-flight entertainment system," she said.

"We apologise for the delay and the inconvenience our customers experienced whilst we resolved the problem, which unfortunately created a knock-on effect on aspects of the flight," she said.
