It's destiny that brought them up together in the same slum. As a matter of fact-MAKA J is a native of Bansang a 260 miles away from Banjul-nding while KING P from Kombo Coastal settlement of Tanji about 20km far. Both attended the Banjul-nding Upper Basic School and later MAKA continued at the Gambia High School while King P proceeded to King to Rose Kali International High School, where they both sat to their WASSCE finals and graduated.

Their love for hip hop music is unquestionably and they've listen to the these genres all their lives, from New York to Tokyo, East Coast to West Coast, London to Hong Kong, Lisbon to Kingston, Stockholm to Windhoek, Washington to Wellington, Bangui to Banjul the list goes on.

From then their ability was visible for all to see and sooner than anticipated they were making waves, they talents was quickly noticed especially in their home town of Banjul-nding.

Withmuch work to be done in reshaping the current situation of the country's hip hop Industry , this duo stars enter the scene with a clear mission to make a real impact so as to move the country hip-hop sector to another level.. "Some Rappers concentrate a lot on filling their wallets than spreading the message.

Rap is more than just ENTERTAINMENT!. The rap mbalax is way too not the solution because it is only design for the Gambians; it could only be subscribed by the Gambian. We need it to be better than that, we need to go beyond borders, and that's what the KINGDOM OF FREEDOM represents to HIT ABOVE THE PAGE".
