Angola: New Secretary-General of CICA Elected

Luanda — The Christian Churches Council (CICA) has a new secretary-general since last Thursday, following a meeting attended by about twenty leaders of various Christian denominations.

CICA's new secretary-general is reverend Deolinda Teca, who said to ANGOP that she will continue to work to strengthen the co-operation among the churches, fight against hiv/aids and domestic violence.

She pledged to equally focus on gender equity, strengthening of capacities at the level of the theological institutions and the upgrading of religious leaders.

Rev. Deolinda Teca will be sworn in on February 2013.
