Gambia: Bush Fire Wrecks Havoc At Mure Kunda Ground Nut Farm

A recent fire incident which occurred in Mure Kunda late last month has left Kumba (Samba) Wally in a great shock as her one hectare groundnut farm, was penetrated by wild bush fire burning her bumper harvest product to zero.

Speaking to "Foroyaa" the victim, Kumba Wally, a female farmer said she was not at her farm at the time of the incident. She was called by her son who at the time was at the farm. She said her son went to call the people to come and help put off the raging bush fire. She said before they could arrive at her farm, the fire has already burnt down one hectares of the farm. Wally is appealing for help from all and sundry to enable her fend for her family, whether in kind or cash, but most importantly her children's school fees and other needs of the family.
