Angola: Official Defends Better Agrarian Research for Increasing Production

Cela — The Minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga, defended on Thursday in Wako Kungo city, central Kwanza Sul province, dynamism in the agrarian research work, aiming to improve the quality of agricultural production in the country.

The minister said so during the opening act of a two-day meeting with staff and official of the agrarian research countrywide.

In the meeting, the official called for a special attention on the budget aspect.

"For the agrarian research sector, the Angolan executive will provide good working conditions for the researchers and find solutions for the problems faced by the sector," he said.

According to him, if this exercise is carried out with efficiency and effectiveness, it will enable the betterment of quality of agricultural production and thus contribute to the eradication of poverty and hunger.

The act was witnessed by the Secretary of State for Agriculture, José Amaro Tatí, municipal administrator of Cela, Isaías Bumba Luciano, provincial director of agriculture, Pedro Lambuazau, representatives of churches and political parties.
