The Supreme Court has upheld the appeal by the suspected assailant of the former Minister of Information and Communications, Professor Dora akunyili, Jude Ugwu.
A seven-man panel of the court presided over by Justice Datijo Mohammed upheld Ugwu's case that there was no enough evidence linking him with the crime.
Ugwu alias "Agada" and four others were charged before an Abuja High Court for attempted murder of Akunyili in Anambra State in 2003 when she was the Director General of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
According to the charge, a bullet tore through her headgear when the accused persons fired at her car.(Track up), but Ugwu subsequently challenged the competence of the charge against him.
