Nigeria: Security Beefed Up in Kaduna Ahead of VP's Daughters' Wedding

Kaduna — Security has been beefed up in Kaduna metropolis as Vice President Namadi Sambo gives out his two daughters in marriage today.

Weekly Trust reports that since the Vice President arrived Thursday for the wedding, there has been heavy security presence in the metropolis.

Aerial patrol of the state by security operatives commenced immediately the Vice President arrived, while more check points have sprung up.

The wedding fatiha, Weekly Trust gathered, will take place at the Sultan Bello Mosque, while the reception would be held at the Hassan Usman Katsina House.

At the Sultan Bello Mosque where Vice President Sambo observed his juma'at prayers yesterday, there was heavy presence of security personnel.

Heavily armed soldiers, policemen and operatives of the civil defence corps mounted guards at all the entrances to the mosque.

In company of the Vice President at the mosque were, former executive secretary of PTDF, Alhaji Hamisu Abubakar, Senator Ahmed Aruwa and Kaduna-based business magnet, Alhaji Sani Dauda.
