An assistant chief caught defiling a 12-year-old girl in Ndhiwa has been arrested. The man was arrested by wananchi who responded to girl's cries.

He was handed over to the AP at Kamata chief's camp and later to police in Ndhiwa. The standard three pupil was heading home accompanied by the chief.

The chief followed her to the bush where she had gone to relieve herself and started molesting her. There have been previous complaints by wananchi of the chief's immoral conduct.
