Ghana: National Democratic Congress Calls for Calm

The Campaign Chair for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has called on the party supporters to remain calm and be law abiding.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra this morning, Mr Afriyie Ankrah said the party has been inundated with calls by party supporters who are apprehensive as to the way forward. He called on the NDC supporters to remain while they await the final declaration of results from the Electoral Commission.

He urged party supporters who are yet to cast their votes to go out and vote for their party peacefully.

He also called on the EC to ensure voting goes on smoothly without any hitches at all the places where polling is taking place today.

He also said the EC needs to take a decision on what to do about voters who due to their occupation, their finger print could not be captured by the verification machine.
