Kenya: Student Boda Boda Rider Found Dead

A Form Three student at Nyikendo Secondary School was yesterday killed after being robbed of his motorcycle in Migori county.

Jona Otieno was found dead in a maize plantation in the morning at Onyalo village.

He had head and back injuries. They were no signs that he had been involved in a struggle.

His colleagues said he was last seen at midnight on Thursday when he carried two passengers from Migori town to Stella trading centre.

Migori Deputy police chief James Mwangi said police are following leads that might help arrest the killers.

Otieno's body was taken to Migori Level Four hospital mortuary.

Police are hunting for the killers after the body was recovered as they seek to establish where the student might have been killed as his body was recovered with wounds without any sign o struggle at the scene.

He said the body has been taken to for post-mortem and has advised boda boda operators not to carry out their business past 9.00 pm and should not carry strangers despite the kind of money offers given.
