Kenya: Kiraitu Says APK Has Not Signed Any Political Pact

The Alliance party of Kenya, has downplayed claims that it has signed any pre or post election coalition agreements with any political party.

Party leader Kiraitu Murungi told party supporters to shun rumours going round that the party was in talks with ODM.

"I want to say categorically that we are not in talks with ODM or any other party whatsoever," he said.

The party is expected to hold its National Delegates Conference on December 20, where party delegates are expected to decide who to back for presidency. They are also expected to confirm and ratify the party officials together with the party's National Elections Board.

Kiraitu said any decisions that need to be made will have to wait for this conference because delegates have the final say.
