Tunisia: General Strike and March Condemning Attack On UGTT Premises and Its Activists

Tunis — The Governorate of Tozeur observed, on Friday, a general strike in response to the call issued by the Regional Labour Union (URT).

According to the URT deputy secretary-general Mohamed Ali Hedfi, in a telephone interview, the general strike was decided following "the barbarous attack on the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Mohamed Ali Square headquarters and the assault on its activists, the day of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the assassination of the trade union leader Farhat Hached"...
