Kenya: Elders Want Homa Bay Seats Distributed Equally

A group of elders from Homa Bay have begun talks on the distribution of elective posts among the eight constituencies in the county.

They are drawn from Rangwe, Homa Bay town, Gwassi, Mbita, Kasipul Kabondo, Kasipul, Ndhiwa and Karachuonyo constituencies.

During a meeting at a hotel in Homa Bay town yesterday, the elders formed Homa Bay County Council of Elders to spearhead the process.

"The main aim of our initiative is to ensure that all the eight constituencies get a share of the top seats, we don't want anyone to feel marginalised," said HBCE coordinator retired senior chief Walter Ochilla.
