Eritrea: Student Week Conducted in Erafaile Administrative Area

Foro — Students Week has been conducted in Erafaile Administrative area which featured various activities such as general knowledge contest, debating, cultural and artistic shows, as well as sports contests.

Mr. Omar Mahmoud, director of the Junior and Elementary School in the locality, called on parents and students to enhance their role in reinforcing student-teacher relations and the teaching-learning process as a whole. Mr. Mohammed-Saleh Omar from the Education Ministry's branch in Foro sub-zone on his part called on pertinent bodies to step up participation in organizing such event.

The participant parents voiced conviction that such event is vital in nurturing competitive and versatile students, and said that they would enhance efforts to this end. Among students, Saleh Adem, Zeineb Mohammed-Osman explained that the event is a good basis to promote educational values.

Mr. Saleh Ibrahim, Administrator of Erafaile Administrative area, expressed appreciation for the diverse activities staged by students vis-à-vis active participation of females, and stated that the growing trend of rural community participation in Student Week events attests to the rising societal awareness as regards educational values.
