interview

Briefly tell us about yourself

I am Richard Kaggwa-Kalule. I am 48 years old. I am the chief executive officer of Diva Awards Afrika and Afrique Events Group.

Tell us about Diva Awards

It is a Ugandan entertainment company that recognises best female musicians.

How did you come up with the idea of starting the awards?

I was inspired by BET Awards when I was in London.

So why have you come to Rwanda?

Well, there are good females musicians in Rwanda and I think it's good to recognise their efforts.

What is your main objective?

I want to encourage women to actively take part in all productive endeavors by rewarding their efforts.

Where did you start from?

We started from Kenya and Uganda where we have been recognising good musicians for the last four years. Now we have decided to come to Rwanda.
