Artist Geraldine Robarts opened her latest exhibition, "Making Your Mark," at the Talisman Restaurant in Karen, Tuesday evening. A crowd gathered to enjoy the festivities and listen to music by local band Mojo as they savoured the colourful depictions of Kenyan markets, flowers, seascapes, and more.
Robarts' husband Michael Fairhead, kicked off the evening with a tribute to his wife and presented her with a bouquet of roses. Robarts thanked everyone for coming out and shared how her love of Kenya has shaped her art.
Speaking of her work which has covered a span of more than 50 years, Robarts said, "What I paint here is both my passion for painting and Kenya--especially the people. New things are happening all the time. You can't ever imagine waking up and not finding a new day here."
The exhibition containing abstract and mixed-media art, runs through December 21st.
