Nigeria: Army Raids Bomb Factory, Arrests 12 in Niger

Following the confession of a suspected bomber of a church at the military institution in Jaji, Kaduna State, the Nigerian Army have arrested 12 persons during an operation in a bomb factory at Maje area of Suleja, Niger State on Thursday.

LEADERSHIP WEEKEND gathered that during the operation, the team, led by a captain, recovered over 40 units of improvised explosive devices.

It was gathered that among those arrested is a radio repairer who just came back from Saudi Arabia and subsequently served as the group's ring leader.

Other members of the gang also claimed that they were employees of a foreign construction company, which they said was working on the Minna-Suleja road.

In accordance with the laws of Niger State, the chairman of Suleja Local Government Area has been advised to demolish the house where the bomb factory was located.

When contacted, the Niger State police public relations officer, Edwin Edorbo, said he could not speak on the development at is it purely a military operation.
