Nigeria: Presidents of Sierra Leone and Malawi Mourn With President Jonathan

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has received letters of condolence from two African leaders on the death of his brother, Chief Meni Innocent Jonathan on November 20, 2012 and whose remains would be interred today (Saturday) at his hometown, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

In his letter, President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone said he was “deeply saddened by the news of the death” and “on behalf of the Government and people of Sierra Leone and on my own personal behalf, let me extend sincere condolences to you and the entire Jonathan family for this irreparable loss.”

President Joyce Banda of Malawi in her letter of condolence said,“It is with deep shock and sadness that I learnt of the death of your brother.”On behalf of herself, her family and Government and people of Malawi, she conveyed “sincere condolences” and asked “the Almighty God” to grant President Jonathan and his family the “Grace and comfort during this mourning period.”
