Nigeria: Labour Party - Osun People'll Determine New Gov in 2014

Osun State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has vowed that the people of the state will be the ones to determine who becomes the new governor in the 2014 governorship election rather than the imposition from Lagos State.

Speaking exclusively with THISDAY in Osogbo, the state capital, the chairman of the party, Chief Bankole Afilaka, said the present administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola has no space in government again because he has destroyed the social fabric of the state.

The chairman, who spoke extensively on the second anniversary of the present administration in the state, lamented the failure of the government for not representing the people of the state well. He noted that the Labour Party will create a platform for partnership with the people of the state after taking over in 2014 for meaningful development.

He said Osun State under Aregbesola lacks infrastructural development because Aregbesola is not interested in development as he accused the governor of fighting opposition for territorial expansion to Ondo State.
