Nigeria: ' We're Unbeatable in Female Hockey'

Faith Okoh-Baya, the Team Manager of the Delta female squad yesterday said that they remained the unbeatable champions in the event at the nearly concluded 18th National Sports Festival.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Team Delta defeated their Rivers counterparts 2-1 in the final of the event at Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium Lagos.

While Team Lagos overwhelmed Team Kaduna 1-0 to clinch the bronze medal in the third place match.

The manager added that Team Delta would have a glorious closing on Dec.9, because the hockey team successfully defended its title.

"We would have a splendid closing ceremony as the festival comes to an end. We have successfully defended our title as the champions once again at this competition.

"We won't rest now that the gold is back to us but would start preparing early once we get back home for the next festival scheduled for Cross River.

"An early preparation precedes good result, and that's why we shall remain the unbeatable champions," she said.
