Algeria, U.S. Officials Discuss Mali

US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns arrived in Algiers on Thursday (December 6th) to discuss the Mali crisis, APS reported. The US diplomat met with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, Maghreb Affairs Minister Abdelkader Messahel and other top officials.
At a press conference at the US embassy, Burns hailed Algeria for promoting a dialogue between Malian government and the rebels.
