Nigeria: Diamond Bank Sponsors 44 Schools in Ado Bayero Cup

About 44 secondary schools across Kano State sponsored by Diamond Bank participated in the just concluded inter-secondary schools football competition tagged Ado Bayero Cup.

In the final match Kano Teachers' College defeated Government Arabic Secondary School, Gwale, 2-0.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje graced the occasion and assured secondary schools across the state that the government will do everything possible to see that sporting activities are encouraged in the state.

Ganduje revealled that the state government appreciates the gesture of Diamond Bank, in sponsoring the competition and called on youths across the state to always be law abiding when watching football matches in any stadium.

The regional manager of the Bank Alhaji Mohammed Shuaibu disclosed that the bank sponsored the competition as part of its support for youth development.

"We are doing this also as part of our corporate social responsibility and we are starting from Kano," the regional manager said.
