Liberia: Public Works On Traffic Lights Project

The Ministry of Public Works has continued its commitment to development and making sure that traffic lights be installed at various streets.Intersections in Monrovia to avoid traffic embarrassment also help drivers drive safely while crossing other streets.

The Acting Director of Transport Engineering Division, A.Blamo Tugbeh said the traffic light installation is in fulfillment of Public Works Ministry's commitment to install more lights before Christmas.

Mr. Tugbeh said in addition to the 12 to 20 street traffic lights, 18 more sets of traffic lights will be installed in different locations in Monrovia and its environs.

According to him, four containers of lights parts will soon be in the country.

He stated further that before December 24, 2012, many of the traffic lights would have been installed at the various locations.

Tugbeh noted that since the civil war there had been traffic light problems in the city and that something must be done about it expeditiously.
