Eritrea: 36 Breadwinner Women Become Beneficiaries of Training in Dekemhare Sub-Zone

Dekemhare — A total of 36 breadwinner women in Dekemhare sub-zone have become beneficiaries of a 7-month training regarding weaving and knitting.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Kidusan Tewolde, head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare's branch in the sub-zone, explained that the beneficiaries are needy as well as veteran fighter women, and that a 700 Nakfa pocket money was paid to them in the course of the practical and theoretical training.

Ms. Yirgalem Gebremeskel, a resource person, indicated on her part that 25 of the beneficiaries were trained in weaving, while the rest pursued the knitting craft. She further encouraged them to strive to raise their income on the basis of the career they have been engaged in.

Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Sophia Habtesilasie, Ms. Desiet Woldu and Ms. Leteab Tadese expressed satisfaction with the training course, and lauded the initiative taken by the Ministry to improve their livelihood.
